Production Team Biographies

Jeff Boatright (Co-lighting design) True West marks the 6th ESP production that he has had the pleasure to work on. Recent lighting and technical work include Veronica's Room and Herndon High School's Little Shop of Horrors. He says he continues to owe a lot to his mentor, Les Zidel, who has guided me through the challenges of Lighting Tech in Community Theatre. Lastly, he'd like to express his appreciation for the patience his family endures during those long nights and weekends - when "'Dad" is at the theatre.

Holly Harrington (Assistant Director) has been involved with ESP since she was introduced as an actor in 1991. She has acted in many a main stage production, been Assistant Stage Manager for Other Peoples Money and Kvetch, Assistant Director for The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (where she met David Sher the actor), and the Director of Runaways.  Under David Sher's direction she won Best Actress awards from NVTA and VTA for the 1999 one act Talk to Me Like the Rain. ..and Let Me Listen. As creator of Something Different she has brought quality children's theater to ESP for the past eight years. In August of 2000 Holly directed her largest production to date, when she and David Sher married here at the IST. She would like to thank David for all his unconditional love and understanding.

Amber Jacks (Stage Manager) is in her first production with the Elden Street Players. Past shows have included Bandstand 2000 (West End Dinner Theatre), Taming of the Shrew (Washington Shakespeare Company), Tiger, Tiger, Tiger (Theatre of the First Amendment), and lago's Plot (GMU players). She would like to thank her Mother & Jim for their loving support, Jim Hoffman to whom she owes more than she can express and Denise and David for the chance to SM again. And to Jen for introducing her to Arron.

Adam Konowe (Fight Choreographer) is a recognized actor/combatant in the Society of American Fight Directors and a founding member of the Reston Community Players' Noble Blades - the areas only professionally trained, community based stage combat troupe. Since 1992, he has choreographed the fights for over 30 professional, community and educational shows in the DC area. In addition to stage combat, Adam is also a director and lighting designer, most recently directing The Alchemist for ESP and Much Ado About Nothing for RCP.

Eileen Mullee (Properties) This is Eileen's first production with Elden Street. She has previously worked with RCP as producer, props and set construction for Man of La Mancha, props for Much Ado About Nothing and set construction for The Wizard of Oz.  After 25 years in the business world, she has recently made a career change into teaching and is a full time student working towards her masters and licensure requirements.

Joanne Quam (publicity, props, runner) is slowly learning "everything you want to know about backstage, but were afraid to ask". No stranger to Elden Street Players, she was assistant to the director for Gypsy, directed Pegora The Witch, produced Androcles and the Lion, and assisted with costumes and dressing for Pippin. She is very pleased with the chance to help in new areas and to be associated with the talented cast and crew of True West. Joanne wants to extend love and appreciation to her terrific husband and three sons for their support and for understanding all the time away from home for this show.

Denise Reid (Producer) has been involved with community theatre for four years. True West is her first attempt at producing and first time working with ESP. It has been a true learning experience. Denise would like to thank the talented crew for their hard work, dedication, patience. and support. She would like to send a special thank you to David Sher and to Rich Klare for their support and encouragement.

Laura Russell (Costumer) In past seasons, Laura costumed ESP's production of A Raisin in the Sun and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. On stage in the last six months, she has appeared as Germaine in Port City's Picasso at the Lapin Agile, as Deborah in ESP's one-act Sexual Perversity in Chicago, and as Mrs. Manningham in PWLT's Angel Street. A familiar face to ESP regulars, her most recent performance at the Industrial Strength Theatre was as Terry in Side Man.

David Sher (Director): This show marks the beginning of David's second season as Artistic Director for the Elden Street Players. He has directed two ESP entries into the NVTA festival: Talk to Me Like the Rain and Let Me Listen and Sexual Perversity in Chicago. He Co-Directed the ESP mainstage production Night of the Iguana, and has appeared onstage with ESP in Fifth of July, The Prime of Miss Jean Brody, The Runner Stumbles, The Tenth Man, and the last four seasons of Something Different. The Industrial Strength Theatre is also special to him because this is where he met his wife Holly. This is also where they were married.

Les Zidel ( Co-lighting design) A long time ESP techie, just trying to come up with an occasional good idea. He recently lit The Rocky Horror Show at ESP and will next be working in Vienna on The Lion In Winter. He will be seen during the holidays in a Yulefest for The Herndon Town Square Singers, though not allowed to sing. Les continues to work on developing plans for a downtown cultural arts center with other volunteers. He thanks his co-designer Jeff for his collaboration.
