BIOGRAPHIES OF CREW
Hilary D. Huse (Producer) is working on her fifth production at ESP, having started by producing for her mother (Gloria DuGan) on The Runner Stumbles. Since then she has been involved with The Rocky Horror Show, ART, and Accomplice. Around the area she has worked on Evita, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, The Foreigner, Wait Until Dark, and The Gin Game (VTC); 1776 (RCP); Jekyl and Hyde and Love Letters (TAP). By day, Hilary is a second and third grade teacher at Burgundy Farm Country Day School in Alexandria.
Todd C. Huse (Director) is directing his sixth production at ESP, including Accomplice, The Who’s Tommy, The Rocky Horror Show, and The Lady’s Not For Burning, all of which were recognized by the WATCH Awards and/or the Ruby Griffith Awards. Todd is the current President of ESP, Secretary of NVTA, an active member of the WATCH Board, and the webmaster of several community theater websites. Originally from suburban Kansas City, Todd received his BA in Theatre and moved to the DC area in 1988. Since that time he has been on stage in twenty-six shows and directed ten. Todd works for SRA International as a systems analyst and has just recently moved to a Herndon zip code.
Kristin Shumaker (Stage Manager) is a recent graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, MN. Drafted into stage management as a college freshman, she has worked with directors from Julliard and the Guthrie Theater and interned on the Guthrie Lab's production of Nickel and Dimed by Joan Holden. Thumbs is her first show with the Elden Street Players.
Marty Sullivan (Set Design and Master Carpenter) is happy to again be working with Todd and Hilary. Marty has built more sets than he can count, but his most memorable shows have been Hair (Technical Director), The Who’s Tommy (Master Carpenter) and The Rocky Horror Show (Master Carpenter), all presented at Elden Street. During the day, Marty works in research and development for a software company here in Herndon. He’d like to especially thank his wife, Sandy and his daughter, Caitlyn for their patience, understanding and support.
Jeff Boatright (Light Design) has worked on many Elden Street productions in various capacities – electrician, technical director, carpenter, painter, and producer, though his real joy is lighting design. He thanks Todd and Hilary for allowing him to return to this role. Thumbs has also provided him an opportunity to work again with Les Zidel. Les and Jeff have collaborated on many productions here at Elden Street and at other productions across the Northern Virginia area. He would like to thank his family for putting up with his time at the theatre.
Stan Harris (Sound Design) is returning to ESP and glad to be back. Stan has worked for numerous companies over the years including SCT, DS, Washington Savoyards, Hexagon, MVCCT and BEP. He is a three time recipient of ACT's Sound Design award.
Cathy Rieder (Scenic Painting Design) is painting her third set for ESP, having worked on The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged) and Sweet Charity, and will paint Dinner with Friends in June (and anything else she can in between). She is also busy painting the sets for Creative Dance Center’s (CDC’s) December production of The Nutcracker and for LIES Annual Variety Show. Cathy is a stay-at-home mom, a part-time teacher and in school herself for design. She would like to thank the great and welcoming crew at ESP for giving her these opportunities to fulfill her need for creative outlets. She would also like to thank her daughters for countless hours helping paint the sets. And to Mike for tagging along that first day wielding a drill and building everything in sight since.
Brittany Dunbar (Assistant Stage Manager) is working for the first time ever behind the scenes (and with ESP) and what a learning experience it has been. Being just a sophomore at Madison High School, it's exciting for her to have the opportunity to work with an older, more mature cast. You may have last seen Brittany in Godspell at St. Mark’s Catholic Church over the summer, or in Madison's spring musical HONK! She's currently playing Cookie Cusack in Madison's fall play, Rumors. She wishes the cast of Thumbs the best of luck in all their theatre careers, "break a leg guys, I love ya!"
